The Elms Consultancy was set up to offer support to small businesses, in particular to help with their marketing and to provide support to small or medium sized exhibition, event and publishing companies.  It can also support companies with exhibiting. 

It was set up by Cindy Hedmann who has a wealth of event experience both in independent and corporate companies.  Starting her exhibition career at EMAP and working for UBM and Quantum Business Media, Cindy then became one of the directors at Legend Exhibitions where she was heavily involved in all operations and integral to aiding the company’s growth and subsequent sale to Reed Exhibitions.

Her experience is mainly in trade shows and events including The Restaurant Show, Bar Show; Care Shows, Publican Conference and Publican Awards, Publishing Expo, RBTE, Retail Design Expo and Retail Digital Signage but also some consumer event experience, particularly as part of the original team that launched Taste of London.

She has experience in many disciplines including operations, full event management, marketing and publishing but her passion is marketing and she was proud to win the Marketer of the Year in her first year joining UBM.

Cindy also has significant experience in the preparation (planning an exit) and full sales procedure of event/exhibition businesses. She has managed and experienced the process on multiple occasions, including the sale of Publishing Expo to UBM and the Legend Retail portfolio to Reed Exhibitions.

The Elms Consultancy has other experienced event professionals who work with Cindy on projects, providing support in design, social media, marketing, publishing and event management.
